Between 2010 and 2014, the number of South Carolinians without health insurance fell by more than 150,000. During this time, South Carolina also saw a greater decline in percent uninsured than other non-Medicaid expansion states in the Southeast Region.
The percent uninsured in SC was 17.4% in 2010 and 13.4% in 2014 for an absolute decline of 4.0% and relative decline of 23%.
The percent uninsured in the Southeast Region was 17.7% in 2010 and 14.1% in 2014 for an absolute decline of 3.6% and relative decline of 20%.
